The Medical Grade HEPA used in the Austin Air Healthmate Junior Plus effectively removes up to 99% of bacteria and aerosolized viruses* as small as 0.1 microns. It also eliminates a wide range of gases, chemicals, VOCs and formaldehyde. This broad-spectrum adsorption makes it the best choice for people exposed to smoke from wildfires and offers dentists and their patients’ protection against airborne contaminants.
The HealthMate Plus Junior specializes in the reduction of harmful chemicals, noxious gases, VOCs, formaldehyde and sub-micron particles for individuals in the most contaminated of settings. Austin Air’s 360-degree intake system draws air into all sides of the HealthMate Plus Junior, passing it through a 4-stage filter.

HealthMate Plus vs. HealthMate Plus Junior
The Austin Air HealthMate Plus Junior has a 4-stage HEPA/carbon/zeolite filter just like the HealthMate Plus does. The carbon in the Junior is impregnated with potassium iodide, too. Just like the HealthMate Plus. However, the Junior is designed to filter contaminants from smaller living spaces. So, the Junior has 30 sq. ft. of HEPA, compared to the 60 sq. ft. of HEPA used in the standard HealthMate Plus. The Junior also has approximately 270 cubic inches of impregnated activated carbon and zeolite compared to the 780 cubic inches used in the standard HealthMate Plus.
